Commercial work

|Casual/ streetwear | Mens- or Womenswear | Retailexperience|

During my studies I have interned at different commercial (retail)companies (see resume).

Because of these internships I've been able to develop my skills as a designer.

I have learned lots about development and the journey each garment makes before it reaches the shop.

Technical drawing, making tech packs, measuring, fitting, colour/ fabric/ trimming sourcing were my daily tasks and I really got the chance to improve these skills and grow as a designer.

Each internship I noticed that every experience made me grow and learn more about the craft.

My main interest goes out to casual and streetwear. This is because I find my inspiration in daily experiences and people I see on the streets. I combine these things with trends and forecasts I find online (webshops, blogs and forecastplatforms).

I don't have a specific preference for menswear or womenswear. Take my graduationproject as an  example. This is inspired by the influence gender has on fashion and our daily lifes. I think as a designer you should be able to design for any gender, just as long as you pay attention to what your customer wants!

My internships were both mens and womenswear, so I have experienced both.
